Kim and Mike’s beach wedding was not only a beautiful day but it was super sweet for me on a personal note. I got married on the very same beach almost ten years ago. So you can imagine that I was more than a little excited to be shooting a wedding at North Beach Park in Ferrysburg. It was a nice hot summer day and I count myself lucky that I got to be a part of the whole thing. Kim is not only beautiful but has a smile that lingers on her face. She was happy and it was a joy to shoot. Mike was a cool mix of excitement and calm through the whole day. They were a dream to work with and I wish them a lifetime of happiness! And many thanks to Andrea Hughes for helping me capture the day!

There are so many misconceptions about birth photography that when I tell people I shoot births I’m usually prepared for their shocked reactions. But all the words in the world cannot explain it as well as simply showing them. So, I am delighted to be able to show you how this couple became a family on a cold and sunny day in January.

I wouldn’t feel right if I didn’t tell you how wonderful this couple is first, though. I’ve seen a lot of moms and dads and these two are among the most inspiring to me. She labored on in silent strength while he lovingly stood beside her and held her hand the entire way. I was especially humbled to be asked to document this baby’s birth and I continue to be blessed to call them friends. Thank you!!

It’s hard not to love your job when the people you are around are as happy as Sarah and Andrew. Their wedding in Holland was so much fun to shoot! They were surrounded by good friends and close family the entire day. It was inspiring and humbling at the same time. Thank you to Sarah and Andrew for inviting us to be a part of your wedding day. It was beautiful and you are truly blessed!

There are two things that I really loved about this wedding. First, Sabrina and Grant know how to have fun. From start to finish these two were all smiles and grins and were bound and determined to squeeze every last drop of fun out of their wedding day. I loved it! Second, their reception was held in Holland at the Holland Area Arts Council. Can you say amazing?? It was a gorgeous place to shoot and between the backdrop of all the art mixed with all the love and fun of Sabrina and Grant’s wedding day, it was perfect. I can’t wait to share these photos!

I was really looking forward to this shoot not only because I love preggo bellies but because the daddy-to-be is a fellow photographer friend of ours. (And although the the mommy-to-be isn’t a photog, she’s not too bad herself!) It’s always fun for me to shoot photographers, but I really enjoyed sharing this special time with friends. We couldn’t be more thrilled for these two to become parents. Their little girl is going to be one lucky baby!
