This trio of wonderful sisters called me several weeks ago and wanted to get the ball rolling on a Mother’s Day Surprise for their mom. As a photog and mom of little girls I knew this was going to be an awesome gift. I love how these photos turned out and I’m so thankful I got to be a small part of making another mom’s day today.

PS – Aren’t they gorgeous!?!

I could go on and on about how amazing mentoring a child can be for not only the child but the mentor as well, but sometimes it’s better to just show you. Below is just a teeny bit of the photos I took at the Ottawa County Mentoring Collaborative’s annual Magic of Mentoring event back in January. It’s a recognition event held to honor the hard work of mentors from Grand Haven to Holland, Coopersville to Hudsonville and everywhere in between throughout the county. If you have just two hours to spare a week please consider becoming a mentor. Get in touch with the Ottawa County Mentoring Collaborative by calling (616) 994-4580.

It’s a beautiful day.

I love that my girls can find the beauty and fun in anything – like this frosted hotel window early in the morning on a cold January day. We were a long way from Grand Haven and the girls were amusing themselves by drawing in the condensation on the windows.

This super fun family came all the way from Ohio last week, where they were visiting family for the holidays, to have their photos taken in the snow here in Spring Lake. And for any of you blog stalkers (like my mom!) you might notice that this little guy looks familiar. I shot his newborn photos last summer, and I’ve been taking photos of his older brother since he was just two years old. I cannot tell you how awesome these little guys are, and it was so much fun to get out and play in the snow. I’m so blessed to count this family among my friends. Smooches to you!!

Can you believe how much he's grown in the last 7 months??!

This session wasn’t like work at all. It was just good old fashioned fun. From start to finish, it was just us playing around on a brisk fall afternoon. And how could you not have a good time when you have this little guy to hang around with? His imagination was endless and his enthusiasm was contagious. There is nothing better than spending a little time with a happy child!boy in sand grass at Rosy Mound
