I like how this What to Wear has just a little splash of color. It reminds me of something I learned from my daughter’s preschool teacher: A dot is a lot! Sure, she was talking about not squeezing the whole bottle of glue out on your art project, but you get the idea. Sometimes you just need a little bit of color to do the trick.

Oh, my poor neglected blog! I have been so busy that blogging has gone by the wayside lately. Ooops. But it looks like being this busy is the new normal, and I’m not willing to give up on my little home on the web so I’ll just have to squeeze it in somewhere!

Anyway, what brought me here today is a little series I’ve been wanting to start for some time: What to Wear guides! I get asked by almost every portrait client what they should wear for their session. It’s a tough question to answer because what works for one person or family may not fit the vibe of another. Yes, there are some general guidelines you should keep in mind (read the What to Wear guide on my website for those.) but sometimes it’s easier to have a visual so you can see what I mean. Thus, I bring to you What to Wear Wednesdays! (cue dramatic music here) Over the weeks you’ll get a sense of how all those guidelines translate into actual outfits and you’ll be better able to put together a look that works with your unique style.

So, without further ado, here is the first installment. It’s a family look for spring time. And yes, I know there is still snow on the ground here and these are pictures of shorts and sandals, but spring has to be right around the corner, right?! ha ha.
